Giovanni Mercuri was born in Rome and in 2017 he left for Argentina. It was here that he tried empanadas for the first time: the perfect food for every moment of his journey! The more he ate them, the more he imagined making them known in Italy as well.
Ernesto Claps had the same desire. The idea emerged over a shared meal of empanadas, giving rise to a unique product born from the right combination of cultures – so far away but at the same time so close. Together they opened CEIBO Empanadas Argentina & Cocina al Disco in Rome, an Argentinian restaurant with an extensive menu, mainly based on empanadas and other dishes made with the Argentine technique of “cocina al disco.” Through flavors and details, their shop will take you on a thrilling journey to the Tierra del Fuego.
