Born and raised in China, he refined his culinary skills at a prestigious culinary school, mastering the fundamentals of traditional Chinese cuisine. In 2000, he moved to Rome, seeking new opportunities and ways to expand his expertise. A few years later, he opened his first dumpling shop, Bababao, in the Tuscolana neighborhood. It was an instant hit, leading him to open three more stores.

Everything in his kitchen is made by hand, staying true to the traditional Chinese workshops where patience and care were key. Zheng Yong’s philosophy is simple: fresh ingredients, respect for original recipes, and every dumpling crafted by hand, just as tradition demands. Customers can witness the process up close, as skilled artisans bring each dumpling to life, preserving a time-honored craft passed down through generations.
